Israel Issues Multiple Demolition Orders to Bedouins Near Jerusalem

Israel's Civil Administration on Thursday delivered dozens of eviction and stop-work orders to Palestinian Bedouins east of Jerusalem, a lawyer told Ma'an. Bassab Bahar, who chairs an East Jerusalem committee to protect Palestinian land, said Civil Administration officers accompanied by Israel's military raided the Abu al-Nawwar dwellings, which house members of the al-Jahalin Bedouin community.

Palestinians protest planned Jerusalem evictions

Dozens of Palestinians and foreign supporters protested in east Jerusalem's walled Old City on Sunday against the threatened eviction of a Palestinian family to make way for Jewish settlers. "No to the eviction of the Sub Laban family," read banners carried by demonstrators, referring to the eight occupants of the house near the flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound, a site holy to both Muslims and Jews.

Jerusalem family fights against all odds to prevent eviction

On a small alley in Jerusalem's Old City, a Palestinian family is fighting both Israeli government and Jewish settler pressure to stay in a home they have lived in more than half a century. After a day of fighting with police and Jewish settlers bent on kicking them out of the house, on Monday evening the eight members of the Sub Laban family breathed a sigh of relief after an Israeli court stayed their eviction order.

Israeli forces surrounded a Palestinian home in the Old City of Jerusalem on Monday in preparation to evict the family from the property, the owners told Ma'an. Rafat Sub Laban told Ma'an that Israeli forces surrounded the property in the Old City early Monday and ordered the family to leave the house.The family refused, and Israeli forces brought in equipment to remove the front door.

Israeli bulldozers demolished three Palestinian homes and three structures used for livestock in al-Tur east of the Old City of Jerusalem on Tuesday, residents said. They said bulldozers of the Beit El settlement municipality were escorted by Israeli forces into al-Tur, where they demolished houses belonging to the al-Zari family, leaving 23 Palestinians homeless.
