Israel Slaughters Entire Families, says Palestine’s UN Observer

“With no regard to human life, Israel, the occupying Power, continues to slaughter entire families,” Tuesday said Palestine’s Permanent Observer to the United Nation, Ambassador Riyad Mansour, during an open debate on the situation in the Middle East at the United Nations Security Council. Mansour said that “despite all regional and international efforts, hundreds more Palestinian civilians have been killed, thousands have been injured and tens of thousands have been displaced by the Israeli military aggression in Gaza.”

60,000 Palestinians fled their homes in the neighborhood of Shujaiyya in Gaza City on Sunday amid an intense Israeli assault that left 66 residents dead and hundreds more injured. Thousands of those who fled have sought refuge in the al-Shifa Hospital in North Rimal, a neighborhood in Gaza's west that many are hoping will not be bombed by Israeli forces.
