Suspected Jewish Extremist Attacks Human Rights Rabbi On Video

A masked assailant attacked the leader of a Jewish human rights organization during a Palestinian olive harvest near a Jewish West Bank settlement on Friday in an incident caught on camera. The victim told local media he believed the attacker was a Jewish extremist. The video shows a masked man throwing a rock and jabbing a knife at Rabbi Arik Ascherman, president of the Jerusalem-based group Rabbis for Human Rights.

Israeli Settlers Chop Down 70 Olive Trees In Salfit, Nablus

Israeli settlers chopped down more than 70 olive trees between the towns of Yasuf and Jammain in the northern West Bank districts of Salfit and Nablus on Monday. Palestinian farmers said the trees, which lay close to the illegal Israeli settlements of Ariel and Taffuh, had been cut down using chainsaws.

Settlers Uproot 450 Olive Trees from Palestinian Lands, Bringing Total to 800,000 Since 1967

Israeli settlers from the Immanuel settlement uprooted some 450 olive trees and saplings from lands in Deir Istiya, northern Salfit, on Tuesday. Mayor of Deir Istiya Amal Qouqash told Ma’an that farmers were surprised that the trees had been uprooted as they went to farm their lands near the illegal settlement. The Immanuel settlement was built on lands belonging to residents of Deir Istiya.

Israeli forces uproot 120 olive trees near Salfit

Israeli authorities on Thursday destroyed around 120 olive trees belonging to Palestinian farmers in the northern West Bank, bringing the total number of olive trees destroyed across the region in the last month to nearly 2,000. Farmers living in the village of Wadi Qana near Salfit told Ma'an that Israeli military vehicles accompanied by vehicles belonging to the nature and environmental protection agency of the Israeli civil administration raided the area Thursday morning.

Settlers destroy 1200 Palestinian olive trees near Hebron

Israeli settlers on Saturday destroyed more than 1,000 olive trees near the village of al-Shuyukh north of Hebron, in the third such attack on the villagers' livelihood in recent memory. Local activist Ahmad al-Halayqa told Ma'an that Israelis from the nearby settlement of Asfar, also known as Metzad, attacked the village and destroyed 1,200 trees.

Soldiers demolish a well, uproot trees, near Jenin

Ten military vehicles, and an armored bulldozer invaded the village before demolishing a 50-meter deep artesian well. The well provides water for agricultural lands belonging to residents of Ta’nak, Rommana, Zabbouba, Sielet al-Haretheyya, and al-Yamoun. Israeli forces uprooted 300 olive trees on private Palestinian land in the Nablus village of Salem on Monday, Palestinian liaison officials said. Director of the Nablus District Civil Liaison Office Luay al-Saadi told Ma'an that Israeli bulldozers uprooted the trees 48 hours after his office requested that Palestinian farmers be given access to plow the land.

Settlers destroy 500 newly planted olive trees

A group of Jewish settlers from the Metzad settlement near Bethlehem uprooted over 500 newly planted olive tree saplings on Wednesday near the Hebron town of al-Shuyukh. The damaged fields belong to the al-Ayayda family, local activists said. The owners found the damaged trees in the morning while going out to check his land, which is near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc.
