Before the war started, Reham loved her mornings. The sun shone its beams on the eastern side of Reham’s room, where she slept. Fifteen years old at the time, Reham lived in Al-Maghazi camp in the middle of Gaza. She had long brown hair; round, black eyes; and a pretty smile. She awakened when the sun’s rays filtered through the trees.

On July 2, as the sun began to drift towards the western hills behind Susiya, two large bulldozers atop transport carriers arrive at the entrance to the village of Susiya with a large Israeli flag flying over each transport. The first continues past the village entrance to the military outpost just down the road where the dozier is unloaded.

Doctor and human rights activist Bassel Abu Warda and architect Mostafa Asi started the Save Gaza Project (SGP) during Israel's attacks on the Strip last summer. They plan to rebuild Gaza's only school for children with disabilities, Shams Al Amal, and create an alternative space to be used for classrooms while the original school's reconstruction is in progress.
