Palestinian Teen’s Father Speaks After Killer is Jailed: ‘No Money Can Bring Back My Son’

The father of the Palestinian teenager burnt alive in Jerusalem, Mohammed Abu Khdeir, has said that no compensation could bring back his son after an Israeli court on Tuesday ordered his killer to a life sentence and to pay the family 150,000 shekels ($39,000). An Israeli court convicted Yosef Haim Ben-David, 31, of 16-year-old Khdeir’s murder and handed him an additional 20 years for other crimes.

Israel has arrested six Jewish settlers who allegedly carried out attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, police said on Wednesday. An Israeli court ruled Tuesday that a Jewish man found to be the ringleader of the beating and burning alive of a Palestinian teenager in 2014 was sane and responsible for his actions. Relative of Murdered Palestinian Teen Mohammed Abu Khdeir Beaten Up in Jerusalem

A 63-year-old Palestinian was attacked Thursday night in Jerusalem by unknown assailants. As of Saturday evening, the police have yet to launch an investigation. The man, Zoheir Abu Khdeir, a resident of East Jerusalem’s Shoafat neighborhood who works at an Egged bus parking lot, was beaten severely by at least two men. According to relatives, Abu Khdeir described the attackers as Jewish.
