Prisoner’s Health Seriously Deteriorating in Israeli Prison

A Palestinian prisoner Haitham Jabeir from Salfit in the occupied West Bank is not receiving proper care from Israeli prison services for his seriously deteriorating health, according to a local NGO serving prisoners and their families. The 40-year-old is suffering from severe headaches and frequent vomiting, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said after visiting Jabeir at Remon Prison on Thursday.

Video Challenges Israel Self-defence Claim in Palestinian Killing

A video released by a watchdog Monday challenges an Israeli account that a soldier was in danger when he shot dead a Palestinian who fled after stoning his jeep. Mohammad Kasba, 17, was shot dead on July 3 by Colonel Israel Shomer after stoning his military vehicle close to the Qalandia checkpoint, south of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.

Rights Group Rejects Israeli Account of Palestinian Teen’s Death

A Palestinian rights group on Monday rejected the Israeli narrative of the death of 17-year-old Muhammad Hani al-Kasbah, who was shot dead by an Israeli commander in Qalandiya last week. Al-Haq, which has consultative status with the UN, said that a field investigation found that Israeli soldiers "arbitrarily shot and killed Muhammad, who posed no threat to the Israeli soldiers' lives at the time of the shooting."
